Joining forces with GenderSmart for effective gender-based violence & sexual harassment policies
2022-02-15
MINDtheGEPs is joining forces with Gender-SMART for the third MINDtheGEPs forum. On 28 February, Nathalie Wuiame, a member of the Gender-SMART consortium and Yellow Window trainer, will offer a training on effective policies to prevent gender-based violence and sexual harassment in research organisations.
The Horizon Europe framework research programme is strengthening gender equality in research organisations by making the adoption of Gender Equality Plans an eligibility criterion. Nathalie Wuiame's training aims to help the MINDtheGEPs consortium reach a common understanding of concepts related to gender-based violence; show some figures concerning the reality of this phenomenon in the research field and its specificities; present the 7Ps model (prevalence, prevention measures, protection, prosecution, provision of services, partnerships and policies) which represent a holistic approach to tackle gender-based violence in research performing organisations; and share some examples of measures adopted by European research organisations within the framework of the 7Ps, based on the experience of participants and preliminary data collected in the framework of the European UniSAFE project.
The MINDtheGEPs forum is a project internal activity for knowledge transfer between projects. It is part of our work to design effective gender equality plans.

The 7 MINDtheGEPs partners implementing gender equality plans will offer training in their organisation. In June, we meet in Vigo, Spain, to transfer knowledge between partners, and educate our respective local trainers to ensure a common vision.

The MINDtheGEPs vision for gender equality in research
2022-03-08
MINDtheGEPs partners share the common challenge of modifying their institutions. With our detailed and diverse approach to data collection, with a mix of qualitative and quantitative instruments at national, organisational and individual level (what the researchers call macro, meso, and micro level), partners have put in a lot of work. Both the core teams at each partner organisation and the administrative officers involved to support their work. But neither data collection nor data analyses and policy development are neutral: to design successful Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) for real change, you need a certain vision for gender equality in research.
