Pioneers, researchers, leaders: Women of Gdańsk science

This summer, prominent women in science from universities in the Daniel Fahrenheit Association in Gdańsk have been featured in the exhibition Pioneers, researchers, leaders: Women of Gdańsk science. The aim of the exhibition is to inspire more women to pursue careers in science, looking towards the future through a historical lens.

Supporting women’s scientific careers is very much in line with the mission for the University of Gdańsk’s work in MINDtheGEPs. And how to support women’s careers in science and was also the topic of a panel discussion organised for the opening of the exhibition on 5 August.

During the opening, one of the panelists, professor Adriana Zaleska-Medynska, said that “[w]e are already seeing the first changes. We are heads of departments, vice-chancellors, so the time will surely come when a woman will become the rector at a university in Gdańsk”.

The exhibition can be seen outside St Catherine's Church until the 30th of September.
