MINDtheGEPs representation in EC expert group

The European Commission is launching a new expert group on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on gender equality in European research and innovation. The group’s mission will be delivering a study on the pandemic and its containment measures on different aspects of gender equality. Looking at the institutional, national and EU levels. MINDtheGEPs consortium member Lucio Pisacane is joining the work.

The expert group will investigate what impact the pandemic has had on productivity, career development and working conditions, and work-life balance and care. More specifically also on the impact on research networks, collaborations, mobility, and grant management and evaluation. They will also take a closer look at gender-based violence in the context of the pandemic as well as whether or not European research and development managed to adequately integrate gender dimensions in research about COVID-19.

“COVID-19 has drastically impacted how we work and will continue to do so. What is important now is to make sure that we find a way to identify where we have failed and what has succeeded. To make sure that we can benefit from lessons learned and counteract negative effects. Continuing to promote gender equality in European research and innovation organisations,” says Lucio Pisacane, who is leading the MINDtheGEPs at the National Research Council of Italy (Link removed)
