During this online Open Forum, Ylann Schemm, VP Corporate Responsibility & Executive Director of Elsevier Foundation, will present key data from Elsevier’s 2024 Gender Report, which examines two decades of gender equality progress in research and innovation. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with research leaders on reshaping evaluation practices to further support gender equality.

The panel will explore innovative approaches to reshaping evaluation processes within research institutions, aligning them with gender equality goals. Central themes will include promoting career advancement for women, enhancing women's participation across the research-to-innovation value chain, and creating institutional support for multidisciplinary and impactful research.

Special attention will be given to the role of Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) and lessons from the MINDtheGEPs project, emphasizing how structural and cultural reforms can challenge entrenched biases in evaluation systems and foster sustainable change.
